Talent Development Specialist
The Talent Development Specialist plays a key role in strengthening manager capability, embedding consistent performance practices, and supporting employee development across Perkbox.
Working closely with the Head of Talent & Employee Development, this role combines hands-on delivery with practical advisory support. You’ll partner with managers to improve performance conversations, support development planning, and help bring learning and engagement initiatives to life across the business.
This is a visible role that requires both confidence and pragmatism - someone who can build credibility with managers, provide guidance on people-related challenges, and take ownership of delivering key initiatives.
This role is well suited to someone with a solid foundation in HR or People who is looking to deepen their expertise in performance, development and employee experience, while continuing to grow in scope and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Performance & Capability
Lead the day-to-day delivery of the performance cycle (OKRs, reflections, timelines and completion tracking)
Support consistency in performance conversations across teams, guiding managers on best practice
Support early performance interventions, equipping managers with practical tools and confidence
Embed meaningful 1:1 practices and development planning standards
Manager & Development Enablement
Deliver manager enablement workshops focused on feedback, accountability and development conversations
Support the rollout and adoption of career and skills frameworks
Curate practical development pathways aligned to business priorities
Contribute to the design and improvement of learning initiatives
Evaluate effectiveness and suggest improvements based on feedback and data
Employee Lifecycle & Standards
Lead delivery and ongoing improvement of induction experiences
Embed clear probation standards and support manager checkpoints
Partner with managers to ensure new starters are set up for early success
Identify and flag lifecycle risks impacting performance or retention
Engagement & Communication
Coordinate the engagement survey cycle (timings, comms, tracking)
Support SMT and managers in following through on engagement action plans
Draft clear, practical internal communications related to performance and development
Support recognition embedding aligned to behavioural standards
Coordinate Culture Champions activity in line with strategic direction
Collaboration & Stakeholder Partnership
Build strong working relationships with managers and support them on performance and development matters
Work closely with People Operations to ensure accurate reporting and smooth processes
Collaborate with the Senior Consultant (engagement strategy) to ensure alignment between performance and engagement activity
Work in partnership with the Head of Talent to shape and deliver key initiatives
Success in this role will be demonstrated through clear improvements in manager capability, performance consistency and employee development across the business.
To be successful, you'll have:
3–5 years’ experience in an HR, People or Talent role
Experience supporting and advising managers on performance, development or people-related challenges
Strong understanding of the employee lifecycle (onboarding, probation, performance, development)
Experience supporting performance cycles or structured processes
Confidence building relationships with managers and influencing day-to-day behaviour
Experience delivering or facilitating workshops, training or development sessions
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong follow-through
Bonus points if you bring:
Experience in a fast paced, scaling or performance-focused environment
Exposure to engagement surveys or employee feedback processes
Experience using HR or learning platforms
Interest in learning, performance and capability development
L&D, HR or coaching qualification (or working towards one)

The Interview Process
Our interview process involves 3 main stages:
Short call with a member of the TA team
30-minute video call with Hiring Manager and one other team member
Final Interview and task with two members of the team
